Mechanical Design Technologist

  • Your contribution to this team will include collaborating with project coordinators, engineers, designers, drafters, and clients to develop mechanical and structural steel designs from concept through detailed drawings. Unique among consultants, this position provides the opportunity for field work to scope projects, complete field measurements including 3D scanning, and see your solution in operation.

    Individuals with 0-5 years of experience and the following skills will be strong candidates for the position:

    • completion of a 2-3 year mechanical engineering technology program

    • knowledge of Autodesk Inventor software,

    • knowledge about mechanical design,

    • knowledge about structural steel and steel fabrication,

    • knowledge about designing for heavy industry,

    • ability to develop conceptual sketches into detailed 3D designs,

    • confidence to directly communicate with engineers, tradespeople, and operators through verbal and written communication,

    • ability to safely work in heavy industrial facilities including the ability to conduct field measurements,

    • requires meeting client site safety requirements such as wearing full-face and half-face respirators and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.

    Starting wage will be between $25 and $31 per hour depending on skills and experience.
